Looking after a dog properly involves judging
how much exercise it needs.
This varies from breed to breed, and indeed from
dog to dog. The assumption that small dogs need
fewer walks than big ones is not always correct.
Dogs should be given the opportunity of doing
their business at least four times a day. A quick
circuit round the block is not enough for this.
Your four-legged friend should be given the chance
of running around, playing, sniffing and making
contact with other dogs. Whenever at all possible,
you should allow your dog the freedom of being
off the leash. Of course you are obliged, as a
dog-owner, to consider a number of questions carefully
for example:
Are dogs allowed to be off the leash in
this location?
Does your dog go bananas over strangers?
Does your dog go after prey?
If for whatever reason it is inadvisable to let
your dog off the leash, the flexi leash offers
an appropriate solution. This gives the dog a
great deal more freedom of movement than it has
with a conventional leash.
