The Company
The manufacturing company was formed in 1973 as a result of the invention of the flexi retractable leash.
Since then it has specialized in the development and the production of retractable leashes according to the philosophy that: "When you specialize in one field only, then you have to maintain the highest standards of perfection!”
With its products, which are second to none, it has become a recognized global player on the World market. Today, employing more than 200 people, we are proud to state that our leashes are entirely
“Made in Germany”.
flexi leashes are exclusively manufactuRed in a modern production plant in Bargteheide, near Hamburg, where an environment has been created that gives employees great pride in their work.
As a market leader, the company exports over 90% of our products to more than 50 countries around the globe.

.
The idea
We are often asked how the flexi dog leash was invented, the answer is simple: The inventor and founder of the company who was and is now an owner of Fox Terriers, wanted to give his dogs the freedom to move, even when a leash was needed for restraint.
So, initially for his private use, he constructed a roll-up device using the starting mechanism of a power saw, encased within a wooden shell. While walking his dogs with this first prototype of a retractable leash, he caused such a lot of attention from other dog owners that he decided it could be worthwhile to market his leash.
The idea that became known as the flexi leash gave birth to the company, which remains the pioneer in the market of retractable leashes and still has its founder as its driving force.
